Nintendo Announced today duing their financial report that it will be appointing Shuntaro Furukawa as president of the firm, effective as of June. Current president, Tatsumi Kimishima has stepped down after only 3 years in the position, assuming the role in 2015 after the death of Satori Iwata.

Nikkei have reported that Tatsumi felt that the companies' management needed to be younger, to better understand the needs of the audience, though the news comes after the announcement that current forecasts place Nintendo in line for it's highest annual profits in nine years. This annoucement will make Shuntaro Furukawa the sixth president in the companies 129 year history.
